Social distancing? Here are 5 shows you can binge watch during this time

Let’s be honest….Miss Rona/Covivi doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon! 2020 has been one whirlwind of a year and at this point, we are pretty much over it! As much as we’re being advised to not worry too much…it is impossible to stop ourselves from being anxious and having sleepless nights. There is NO way any sane person could stay calm at a time like this…especially with the numbers rising every day. Quarantine has given us ample time to do so much stuff…we’ve learnt how to cook, cleaned out our closets and tried exercising…we’ve done it all! Be that as it may, we still find ourselves with so much time in our hands. So we’ve made a list of shows you can binge watch to keep you busy for a while.

1. Insecure

Starring Issa Rae, the show is about the experiences of a twentysomething black woman trying to do life. It follows Issa and her friends as they try to navigate love, friendships and careers.

2. Cherish the day

Produced by Ava DuVernay, Cherish the day is a romantic drama that chronicles the riveting romance of one couple. The show stars Xosha Roquemore  as Gently James and Alano Miller as Evan Fisher, two people from different worlds, show views how grown-up love is…amazing yet messy!

3. God friended me

God friended me is a drama about candid twentysomething atheist (Miles) whose life changes dramatically when he gets a friend request on Facebook from someone calling themselves God. In every episode, the God account sends Miles a friend suggestion, people in New York City, who will require assistance. Together with his friends, Miles tries to find out who is behind the “God” account while still providing help to the account’s continuing friend suggestions.

4. Bob hearts Abishola

This American sitcom follows the romance of Bob (an American man is his 50s) and Abishola (a Nigerian immigrant nurse). The show offers a comedic examination of the life of immigrants (Nigerians) in USA.

5. Girlfriends

Girlfriends is an American sitcom that aired from 2000 to 2008. This show follows four young, strong Black women who face life’s ups and downs together. The show’s re-runs are currently airing on DSTV.
